A Cruise up to the Broughtons and back...

April 2024

Three weeks up to the Broughtons and back.

Beach Themed Strait Cruise

2023

With an extremely warm spring, we sought out a beach themed week chasing the pacific Northwest's best sandy spots.

Broughton Archipelago

April 30 - May 14 2022

The Spring of 2022 was a cold one in the Pacific Northwest with lots of snow still in the mountains. We had been in the Broughtons in the fall of 2020 - we sailed up from Vancouver and transited all the rapids. However on that trip we were only able to explore the area for 6 days before having to head south again. This time we took advantage of the fact that the boat was already on the trailer to tow the boat directly to Port McNeil and explore the area much more in depth. This also forced me to complete the maintenance on our trailer and install some new trailer disc brakes. This is early season in the Broughtons for 15 days we did not share an achorage with any other vessel and enjoyed so much wildlife and the feeling of remoteness up there is real. It is worth mentioning that this trip would not have been possible without our little Wallas 1300 heather that we installed in the fall of 2021. This made the cabin dry and warm and we were able to dry all our gear after the rainy days.

Broughton Archipelago

2020

Our first time heading to the Broughton's. We sailed from Vancouver and transited the rapids over three weeks.

Desolation Sound and San Juans

2018

Our first summer with TriOomph and we spent as much time as possible on him! We spent the spring in the San Juans and went back to Desolation int he fall. We were planning our Baja trip, so completed many shakedown cruises!

Desolation Sound

October 2017

19 days heading from Squamish to Desolation Sound. This was the first big adventure on TriOomph after purchasing him.
